I offer advice guidance & form filling support when it comes to Disability Living Allowance & Personal Independence Payment forms. I also offer advocacy support with other forms associated with ensuring that additional needs are supported eg housing medical forms/Blue Badge forms & advocacy regarding housing inclusion/disrepair. Making a claim for disability benefits is an emotional journey - the forms can feel totally overwhelming, time-consuming & seemingly counter-intuitive to complete. So many families I work with say that they seem to ask the same questions over & over again & they just don't know how to best explain their needs. At its simplest with my advocacy support we bring loving attention to all that you do every day to take care of your child or yourself & the ways that being safe whilst mobile may be challenging for you. After our in-depth discussions around needs I will complete your form & send to you for your approval & signature so you can submit. During our appointment we will discuss health conditions & explore supporting evidence & if additional evidence is likely to be required I will advise as to what more will be needed to strengthen the case & we can reschedule the appointment for when this is available. I have worked within the field of disabilities benefits for 20 years & have a very high success rate but when it comes to benefits, outcomes are not guaranteed & so I want to be sure that any application I make on your behalf has the best chance of success. I try to draw the balance of power in our favour by being articulate & evidence based so I that the person assessing the application is able to look beyond words on the page to clearly visualise the person & their daily lived experience. If your claim should be declined I offer a free follow-up meeting to discuss next steps. I do work to Tribunal level & I can take you through this process if this is something you would like to pursue. More that 60% of applications refused at application stage are awarded at Tribunal & for me personally my success rates are nearly 100%. This is because I will give an honest assessment as I would not take forwards a Tribunal I didn't think would be successful. The Tribunal process usually take a year & involves a detailed assessment of tribunal evidence & preparing the case for court. I charge £200 for this service but if I have supported you with the DLA/PIP form the cost of that initial form is deducted from this fee.
